Its going to leak down quite a bit. Id say at least 1 if not 2. You could always drain a little, then replace them, then put the fluid back in.

The fluid should be about 1.5" from the top of the speedo hole, so there is quite a bit of fluid above the seals.

A LOT, it wont be fun. Drain your fluid. The diff is the lowest part of the casing, and the seals are way down there, so expect to lose most of your fluid. Better to lose it in a controlled way.

I did an auto axle on a G20 and nothing came out. So then I went to do a 5spd axle on a gxe sentra and I pried the axle out and it was like niagara falls. SUcks because I was doing the axle for a friend at her house in her driveway! Luckily she gave me a big cup of soda right before. I dumped the soda out and put it under the tranny. Filled it right up. Had to explain why her cup was filled with this fowl smelling fluid but hey it's better then on her driveway. Which I got alot on there too though .

Drain the fluid!
