Gaskets
Alright i did some search and no one seems to be as cheap as i have to be. I'm rebuilding, and finially have all my parts, and am ready to put this biotch back together. has anyone tried these before? i know you guys are gonna say, "you get what you pay for" but my true question is, Will it seal?

i wouldn't buy a 38.00 gasket set. imo any thing that takes an assload of time to do should use quality parts.

call GregV and buy a head gasket, the quality one. OEM or the equivalent. you can get some cheap parts from Advance Auto like the water pump gasket, the exhaust manifold gasket, the valve cover gasket, but it still is good quality.

I would also recommend getting new head bolts since the old ones have already " stretched " since they are torque-to-yield bolts...

the most important gasket is the head gasket , period, don't go frugal on that , i should know since i'm king of being frugal

get a couple oe tubes of the Permatex gray RTV from Auto Zone for the front cover & 2 oil pan gaskets. you could prolly reuse the exhaust manifold & intake manifold gaskets assuming they weren't damaged during removal, i have reused these w/o fail before.

BUT technically, yes it could " work " .....

yeah i'm in the pizzle fo' shizzle

but imo you don't have to spend $800 on gaskets, i just think that there's too much of a risk in buying gaskets from a source that you don't know the quality.

really the most important gaskets are the head gasket and the head bolts.

if you ddnt damage the exhasut gasket or intake manifold gaskets then they should be ok to reuse. i have some left over fuel injector o-rings i bought awhile back, i got them from Napa for like $8, and they work just fine .

here see this thread from Napa, and you could prolly get it next day.
129.00 gasket set , i'd say it's a small price to pay for peace of mind ..
