In all seriousness though, you might want to have this conversation in PM. Leave the thread for his question.

Correct me if Im wrong, but dont you just match the wires by color? I always buy a new stereo harness from Walmart when I get a new stereo. Its like $6, makes things easier. There are a few optional things to get but stereo wiring is pretty straightforward. I can do a whole stereo swap in my b13 Sentra in like 20 mins doing everything correctly.

Not always, sometimes they are different colors, but it's not really difficult at all. More likely is that the wiring had a problem to begin with, like a short some place or something.

LOL I am in IE for some reason, no spell check + weed=duh. Definatly not intentional and I know that his right instead of write was an accident since he did spell it correctly at least 2 times in that post. I was just busting his balls a little bit trying to joke around while making a stern point at the same time
Back on topic: I apoligize for the rant, the question has not been answered on the forum before and he asked for help. It was just the way that it was presented that bothered me. It really didn't bother me as much as it sounded like on the internet, but that is half of the fun sometimes. If you have both wiring diagrams and a test light, you should be able to figure it out. There have been mulitple threads in the off topic area in the last week with people asking if there could be an attempt at decent grammer on this forum. The general feeling around this forum seems to be that we would like you attempt to search first and if you do ask a question, please make sure that it is able to be read by everyone. Like I said many veterans of the sr20 scene will either ignore your question or get pissed that they can't understand exactly what you are asking. This forum has people from all over the world and older people on here don't forget. It can be extremely difficult to make out some of what your questions are really asking if the people are in either of those situations. Back on topic, if I have both wiring diagrams in front of me, I can actually help you amd will just as a peace offering. You dont have to take it if I have gone too far for you to forget about it from this point on, but if you want to start over, I won't judge you just from this one post. Many other people would appreciate if you could attempt to make you questions more clear when you ask them. As I said before before I began to rant again, back on topic if anyone wants to help.

Sucks for him...I hate car electrical problems. Unless you know the car inside and out, take it to a shop. But be sure to check the obvious fixes first. (fuses, ground, what not)

To make sure nothing happened with the stereo, grab the stereo, put the red and yellow wires to the positive terminal on the battery and put the black wire to the negative terminal. It should turn the stereo on. If not, you need a new stereo/fuse. Make sure to put the black wire on the negative first.
