I'm going out on a limb and saying there is just a frog in your engine bay. At least that's what the second video sounds like.

I guess pulling the whole motor out of a junked G20 is out of the question?

swap the head or engine? if you are swapping the head make sure you have the head resurfaced in case of any surface damage from possible overheating ect.

blown headgasket shouldn't cause oil depravity - I say do it, and have the head machined to make sure it fits with the new gasket. gL.

the head. i wanna just attempt to put the head on my car to see if it cures the problem prior to pulling the motor. what are prices for machining?

I had mine machined for $55 canadian - so anything under $75 should be reasonable. Dont forget to get a new headgasket and make sure your head studs are within spec (they tend to not stretch, but the fsm has a 'maximum length' the stud can be) - dl the fsm and have a look before you tackle it. And replace studs if necessary.

Also replace the vc gasket and might be a good time to upgrade the timing tensioner to rule that out as well.

depends on your area i would say 60-80 for resurfacing at least thats what ive paid in the past, i would have a shop check the head for any damages from the blown headgasket, hot tanked and resurfaced, thats just me though, but better safe than sorry. but dont know how long someone drove on the head like that or if it was overheating alot ect
