Fuel sending unit same as the fuel pump?

the first componet that was removed on the pics was the sending unit, the other was the pump.. i looks alot differ than the b13's but pretty much the same.. its easier on the b13's.. well there you go.. really easy...just take it easy..

change it when you have about half tank not full...

Shell has it, too, although since I drive the almost same mixed city/rural drive 5 days a week, I did track a local Shell's gas vs. Citgo, and after about 2 months now it's either a coincidence or the gas sold as 93 octane at Citgo is crap, it doesn't get the mpg and motor even stumbles dropping from high revs off idle (as in drop from 5 k to idle, stumbled down to 400 then came back up to 600 or so).

That last part was pissing me off, since I stopped hitting the extra few cents a gallon at Citgo, mpg is normal for this time of year and no more problem.

Also no one asked this, I think, but if you're running an OEM airbox intake, check for blow-by and other crap in the air filter. If you run a cone, clean and oil it. Excessively dirty air filter kills mpg, and here I see a lot more sand-dust in Winter because the roads get salt/sand then dry up. The fine powder makes its way into the air filter, tends to block it up faster than normal when the roads are clean.

Very interesting find on the Shell/Citgo. I will try Royal Next tank most likely, so will see how that goes

Well I just finished my tank of the real gas and I got 273 miles out of it.That just goes to show this stuff is no good for OBD1 cars.As stated earlier in the thread you guys running OBDII and up computers aren't going to be affected as bad. With E10 I was getting 19.5 MPG with E10 real gas I'm getting 24.8 MPG.That is with the same amount of driving which is 90% highway miles.

All the ones I have found are using the old style pumps.

How old style are we talking here, like 1950's?

I fueled up with some Royal fuel, which supposable has the 100% purge gasoline sticker (which does look kinda old). It was an old styled pump too, so will see if its any better

I know pretty vague answer look for a crappy looking gas station with a high turnaround in gas sales. The reason to look for a place that sells a lot of gas is so you get gas that is somewhat fresh.

Now its back on the manifold. Which makes sense because that is where the injector harness gets ground.

Whoa, I dunno how I missed this post. So your saying your ground was else were and got crappy MPG, then when you put it on the Intake Mani it got better?

E10 has cut about 25-50 miles from my average tank. You cant avoid E10 these days, I can confirm 7-eleven (citgo) Hess and Murphy USA (Wal-mart) use E10 religiously. At no savings to you.

I think the only way to beat E10 and E85 is to build yourself an engine that's MADE to take advantage of the properties of ethanol. IMO, putting any amount of Ethanol in an engine designed to run on GASOLINE is detrimental to, well everything: (your pocket, your taxes, your fuel economy, the farming industry, the food industry, your fuel system, your engine, etc.) I'd go so far as to say my idle is even rougher.

I mean, if you're going to put s*** fuel in a gasoline engine, to me, that's like putting diesel or kerosine, or methanol in a regular gasoline car. I swear, I'm f***ing finding me a diesel and dropping that s*** in. At least they're not messing with diesel, I don't think they could, except with vegetable oil, and I haven't seen any disadvantage to that except it's too thick to run on start up. It's pathetic when a 1987 Volvo Diesel gets better mileage than a Civic Hybrid and a Gasoline powered Smart car.

25-50 miles less is a lot! Thats about 1-2 gallons extra used up!

The way it is, it's 1 gallon of ethanol for 10 gallons of normal gas. So our cars get filled with more then 1 gallon of ethanol, which ruins the other good fuel's economy.

I mean I would rather always fill up at 9 gallons with 100% pure gas then 10 gallons and one gallon of this "space taker". With 9 gallons of real gas I would get better MPG's!

I have a thread about beating ethanol with ECU tuning. Right here, hopefully there is a way to put it to use...
