Thread: SR20 Alternators "Gen1 vs Gen2 with UR pulley problem :-l

Yesterday I was getting ready to put my UR alternator pulley on my Gen2 alternator and the lip around the shaft sticks out to far. The pulley would not turn once I torqued the nut down. I am going to need some kind of spacer to push the pulley out some to stay off the lip. I also found out that the stock pulleys between the Gen1 and Gen2 alternators do not interchange either. I will take pics and post up my findings. Has anybody else ran into this problem?

Could You Change The Housing? To The Old One?

^I was thinking about doing that. The Gen2 I plan on using is all cleaned up looking brand new and didn't want to switch it up. I'll see what you guys think after I post the pics.

Same here - no issue with B15 alternator

Yes there are 2 diffrent Alts

They do bolt up fine to the motors and work.

The Pullies are not interchangable as MR-4Door-SR20DET. This is only a pully problem not a working problem

so just get a b15 UR alt pully....problem solved.

thought they were all the same pully in the set for all of them
