lol, I wanted to keep the dust shield. Looking back on it I would suggest anyone doing this to take off the dust shield. It has caused too many problems that any benefit of it is not worth keeping it on there during the install. If I had to do it again I would take the dust shield off.

Also, I used Hawk HP Street pads from a 91 Eagle Talon(as I heard they fit). They did seem to fit, but I had to take one of the retainer shims off(the main one in the middle) because it would barely fit w/both shims. Maybe it would have worked w/both shims in place, but I messed w/it for a while and couldn't get it to work.

You don't need the shims. I never run shims on my B13s.

btw, got the caliper in. It was the dust shield. Everyone tells you that you need to cut the dust shield on the outside. No one seems to mention that there's a piece of the brake shield on the INSIDE of the caliper that you have to bend or cut off as well.

I did

Ya, I cut that part of the shield off. Those were for the top and bottom of the caliper. On my car, there was some pieces of the shield sticking up on the middle/inside of the caliper. So, pretty much where the caliper meets the rotor in the back, the middle part had a small, probably 1/16in of metal sticking out that was keeping the caliper from seating fully.

Also, after I got done and took the car for a test drive, I had a loud squeaking sound with the rotation of the car w/out even applying brake pressure. Turns out it was the dust shield AGAIN. The rotor sits too close to the entire dust shield and has to be bent backwards. Ya, I wish I just took the damn thing off, would have made the install so much simpler and faster. I would suggest anyone doing this to remove your shield and you shall have peace!
