That's the same stuff used in numerous WRC,and GT cars around the world I think it's a little more durable than you guys think.

yeah as i'm reading more into it, it seems like a pretty neat thing.... i think i'll give it a try when i'm back in the country.

check this site out: DonJer Flocking Fibers Supplies Suede-Tex Soft Flock Rayon Nylon Spray Applicators Kits Adhesive Cars Decoys Rods

you can order all the supplies through here. i think the most difficult part would be keeping it consistent on the entire dash..

this isnt like a glue stick and glitter guys. once the glue FULLY cures and you vacuum up the loose fibers it will stay put for a long time.....again its just like the inside of your glove box from what i under stand.

oh ya, alcantara is nice. one of the guys at the shop had his evo interior covered with it...no glare and it looks great.

alcantara=$$$...it's even trademarked!

I thought about ultrasuede, but I wasn't convinced I could coerce it around all the contours of the dash.

I have never flocked a dash. I have however covered one in ultrasuede, and vinyl. I can tell you that suede is a bitch to work with. It has no give and you really need to know you sh-t when laying it on the dash. Vinyl is like cheating because it has stretch to it. You can get away with a multitude of sins.

The only problem I see with flocking is you would need a dash that is in one piece to apply it properly. It's not going to fill voids left from cracking. I imagine you could cover the dash with some type of fiberglass and/or resin and then flock it though.

When building aviation dash pads we used a special anti-glare vinyl. It was pretty easy to work with, but cost a LOT of money. The company I worked for phased suede out roughly a decade ago. Suede is for looks only the durability just isn't there.

1. Clean the HELL out of whatever your flocking. I mean CLEAN it. I used a regular all purpose spray cleaner, let dry and hit it with simple green let it dry and then I hit it with some organic house cleaning thing wifey had bought.

2. The "glue" is more of a black tar like substance. Spread it evenly but don't be afraid to use too much. BUT MAKE SURE IT"S EVENLY DISTRIBUTED!!! (might want to wear rubber gloves as this stuff DOES NOT like coming off without a fight)

3. Fill the tube that you use to spray BEFORE you glue, this will help making the time frame so you're not trying to rush things.

4. USE A LOT OF MATERIAL!! Even for the gauge pod, I think I hit it 3 separate times to make sure it was fully covered, don't ask how many times I hit the dash.

5. Don't touch it after you spray it, if you think you put enough on, put more. After it's done just put the materials away and shut off the lights. Let it sit for at least 24Hrs.

After that, the joy of cleaning a billion little fibers off the floor.

I highly recommend wearing a mask as these little fibers find themselves homes everywhere and you don't want it getting in your lungs.

Other than that enjoy your newly flocked dash, I vacuumed mine last night to clean it up. I love it feels very much like real suede.

thats a post of the dude that flocked his own dash and trust me it looks incredible.
