Thread: guages go out when ignition is turned

my boost and wideband guages turn off when key is turned to start the car. Car will not start, starter doesn't even engage. 12v to the guages until the key is turned past acc then drops to 0v. on acc everything is on. something is grounding out somewhere i'm guessing. Anyone else had any problems like this on past projects?

Anything i can do besides swapping out the entire harness?

MAke sure your positive battery cable is making good contact. I had pretty much the same problem years ago and that turned out to be the cause.

well, I found my main problem. The nipple on my clutch pedal had broken off and wasn't pushing the plunger in on the sensor. I pushed it in with my finger and the car fired right up. Guess I'll have to rig something up to push it in when i push the clutch in. Anyone know if this sensor affects driveability or just startup?

no effect just connect the 2 wires together and you wont have to press the clutch pedal to start vehicle
