RWD SR valve cover wont fit FWD SR? Explain...
I have heard that there is no way this will work.

I am comparing pictures and all the holes seem to line up just fine.
Only difference i see is the hoses coming out of the covers are in different locations.
Also looks as if the section over the gears is raised alittle. Or the section over the cams is lower.

Lets here it, what am I not seeing?

I've heard the same thing but don't know for sure why they don't fit. I have a RWD valve cover and a FWD engine if I really have to maybe I'll compare.

I think the RWD valve cover is too shallow to clear the FWD valve train. But that's a shot in the dark.

There is no way they will fit, for instance. the FWD motor has a large hump where the distributor is placed. The RWD valve cover doesn't have this provision.

Ok, that makes sense. But that does not make it impossible.

ok for one the spark plug tube holes are larger on the rwd, the hump for the distro in the back is non existent, the valve cover for one is a bit longer as well due to the CAS drive that comes out farther on the exhaust cam of the car. This is why the head as well is different. IF you didnt notice the two 10mm bolts that are on the front of the head are on the outside on the fwd sr and they are on the inside on the rwd sr's this is due to the top portion of the head being a bit longer. The blocks themselves are the same as the fwd ones other than maybe slight differences for the motor mounts but i think even then they are the same.

The difference is in the head and the valve cover is different period and cannot be used. Sorry.

What you can do is swap a RWD head on a FWD motor. This would be completely pointless though.

Get yourself a VE or RR valve cover if you really want something different.

RWD will not fit on FWD, there were a few threads with pictures that pointed out the differences...

Thats what i was looking for! Good reply. But, im stubborn and I wont believe any of this until I actually see it. Sorry.

The reason I ask is just becuase I want the spark plug cover. That is all. Im not trying to be different or anything, Just wanna clean up the bay a little.
