Crank Crank Crank
is all I get when im trying to start this new motor. I have a rebuilt brand new sr20det and all I get is crank crank backfire crank. I checked the plugs they aren't flooded and I'm getting spark. Fuel is good (lines are correct I think) Feed goes from filter to rail and return is FPR to the other connection. I did a pressure test and have no vac leaks on the motor. All the connections are good and the grounds seem to be good. It wants to start but just wont play nice for once.

TIA
Alex

none of the parts stores are open sir. I have no leaks from the injectors, but it seems to be losing fuel pressure when I keep cranking. Okay just checked again it goes to around 40 and then goes the hell back down. Not sure why but hopefully somebody can come up with something. I have no leaks my gas feed is on the passnger side and the FPR is on the drivers side. Is that correct

stupid question but did you put the fuel lines on backwards? That's what mine did when I did a swap (d'oh!)

Line goes from filter to rail and return is from fpr to chassis.

timing issue? if it's backfiring.

I'm guessing one of the plug wires is backwards. Same thing happened to my brothers s13 when we put the CAS in upside down. The wrong cylinders were trying to fire at the wrong time. I'd put money on it.

Well I'm losing fuel pressure now, it climbs up to 40 and then just drops down to 0. I'm changing the nismo fpr to a stock one and seeing what happens.

Would have to be ignition timing. I know; I set the mechanical timing personally, and my procedure is mint

I mentioned this as well, but he's apparently already verified that the plug wires are installed correctly.

Surely someone local to you has a fuel pressure regulator?!
