lots of money in this car. At $2800 buy it pull the motor rebuild it and drop it back in. Hell the motor may not even need a rebuild it does need to be hooked up properly.

I also asked him if it smoked on decel, he says that he has never noticed it before. Im thinking that the car needs a catch can and a good pre turbo vacuum source. He really has no clue about the car and he got it about 3 wks ago. Im sure it needs a good tune. I mean a car that runs rich will burn black, but if its really really rich, it will come out gray. So considering that the car has 96lb injectors(why?) and a JWT tune, I am sure that it is probably running in the 9's afr at wot. Please chime in.

the injectors and maf are a little big for the setup but should not cause the car to run that rich. I would think that the bov being open and the vacume line run incorrectly are the source of the problem. Although I have not had a jwt program that ran properly ever. I always have to piggy back with a safc2 to get them right.

thanks, it just seems that if the rings were bad that the PO would have known. He says he was racing an srt8 and it started smoking. But according to his past, this is nothing new lol. I also think that because there is no vacuum running on the valve cover to relieve Crankcase pressure, there is some unnecessary blowby. Anyone agree?

He lives about 4 hours from me but I do frequently go to nashville b/c of the army, so I will probably swing by and look at it to see what shape its in

He might be a nice guy in person, but I wouldn't not put any faith in his posts. (from my experience and research)

If he has good intentions to turn it around for profit, he needs to get it fixed at a shop in M'boro or Nashville, and get it running right first.

yeah I don't put any faith in them. I talked to the original owner about this and he says it ran great but just needed a tune. I have no problem getting the car then putting rings in it. That would take about a day with me and a friend, or just me :-(. Im going to take a look at it at the end of the week. I think it just needs some tlc and a tune, but i will bring the compression gauge just in case. llaprad1, did you see the vid? what do you think? based on what you know

I saw it, hard to tell with all the pixelization in the way.

I don't know too much about rings..I just dabbled in DETs for only a couple of years. But I think it something more serious than simply running rich.
