i wasnt so much looking at the ''look'' of the product but the function of the product. and from the open and closed exhaust sound, seems like it function's pretty good. plus i think the price of the item is high from the quality of it, ''ricey'' or not it still looked like quality craftmanship

That is true... that is actually making me want to take my old rice can and do something similar haha

I bought a greddy about 8 years ago, 60mm piping IIRC and drove on it with a hotshot header and place racing intake. It souded great. Quiet at cruise and deep on acceleration with more intake sound then exhaust.

I sold it to javier at full race. Best N/A se-r exhaust period IMO for sound and probably power too.

i havent searched but i wonder if they have other styles of exhaust with the butterfly in them? you could definitly hear the differences between open and closed, i could definitly see the reason why the exhaust looks the way it does given its probably the easiest way given straight through design.

About cutouts...

When open, what exactly keeps the exhaust gases from going the long way? The difference in backpressure? Won't it cause additional turbulence? Any potential issues with exhaust gases coming out under the car?

Just asking... I'm actually considering one for the track now. With an additional flange pointed downwards, it looks like a good option to go to.

I think with the flange open there is nothing to force it to go to the long way. Now when it's closed it has no other way other then the long way...

i would say positioning of the opening is key. sometimes on cutouts on turbo setups the cutout is like directly under the downpipe meaning when opened the exhaust goes straight out....i hope i explained that right.

I think my quest is about over...

Today I drove to a junk yard looking for some mufflers, too bad they don't keep them because they tend to rust away. So I went to one of my friends, who works in a shop. After about 15 minutes of looking for a muffler, I think I finally settled for something that looks like a Maxima muffler.

Now the fitment is still a little tight... so I will have to work on cutting it and welding it on...
