The long spline has to be from the driver side which is the left side.

The short spline is from the pasenger side or the right side.

Do yourself a favor and throw away the short spline cut axle. It is from something we do not get here in the USA.

Here is a pic of a pc of what you got.

Left is short axle with long sline. ( goes on Hump side of tranny, driver side of USA car )

Right is long axle with short spline ( Goes on Passenger side of USA car )

You can see the pc you got that is cut is the long axle from a SR16VE that goes on the right side.

Yes, I do live in the US

OK, I completely understand now. I am going to go home and look again and I guess I just did exactly like you said and confused myself

Miko I really appreciate the pics and the help. I am sorry if I am frustrating you, but I am also very frustrated too and I have to now rebuild the axle

btw just forget what I posted on the other thread as this will be the definitive thread for this so called problem of mine.

What happened to the axles that were in the car with the old trans?

Thats the long spindle one in the pic.

OK, I found out my issue... apparently I don't have a LSD, I have a NON-LSD tranny with the same fins that the sr16 has. Anybody have an idea of what tranny I have? I was thinking maybe a non lsd b15 or p11, only because its hydraulic and bolts right up to a sr20ve motor.

I took some pics late lastnight, but didn't get to upload them. I'll post them later on.

I knew I wasn't crazy, I just bought the wrong tranny . I just assumed it had the LSD hump until lastnight when I went and looked and found NO hump, hence the reason why the longer spindle won't go in. It really doesn't matter to me as long as it works because its going to be a DD with a/c and all so a LSD is not a big deal. Do I just get a sr non lsd tranny drivers side axle??

Thanks again guys for all your help.

Here is a few pics of he actual tranny

And here are the fins. Never mind the black paint as i am not finished painting it.

btw i found a axle from a 2000 b15 non lsd that looks like its going to fit! Woohoo!

Also as yoou can ell there is NO lsd hump!

I dont see any pics with fins.

Anyway a B15 non LSD axlke will not work. It will fit in the trans but not in the hub. B13s, B14s have onse size hub. P10, P12 and B15 have the larger hub.

So if you going to try and use the axle on a B13-B14 it will not fit in the hub.

To get the corect axle for a Non LSd Tranny you have to get it from a 98-99 200SX SER or Sentra SE. These cars come non LSD.

Those type of fins on the tranny did not come to the USA.

That tranny looks like the tranny that comes on a JDM U14 and P11 RR motor.

Trust me when I tell you we gte nothing like that tranny here in the USA.
