Having fuel issues...HELP
The other day,I tarted the car and it didnt want to stay running. It would start, but try to stall. It would idle, but you could not give it gas,or it would stall.Eventually would not start at all.You could hear the FP priming though,so I know it works.
I had 250 miles on the trip odo since fill-up,and the gas gauge read above "E".
I always reset at fillups, since I try to keep track of gas mileage.
I was starting to stress a little, then I put about 2 gals of gas from a can in....started right up,and ran perfect to the gas station(6 miles).
I filled up,reset the odo...everything seems normal again for almost the whole tank.
The car starts and runs perfect until it gets near 200-220 on the trip-odo(between 1/4 and "E" on the gauge)Then it starts to have fuel problems.I notice it first when I go around a corner and get on the throttle...It will fall on its face ,briefly(like no fuel). If I let off the gas it will come back.If I ease into it ,everything is good.

Next tank of gas...all is good again.I have run the car pretty hard at times, hitting the cams hard and revving to 7500.Car is damn fun

215 on the odo the crap starts again

I am gonna pull the FP out again and have a look.I did have to replace it and clean the tank in this car...maybe I put something back in f-ed up,but it seems pretty straight-forward.
Could it be one of the pickups is clogged, like the one that goes to the bootom of the tank?

I can just fill up at 200 miles and live with it but I really want it fixed.I have never seen the fuel light on this car.It would be nice to have that doing what it was designed to do...be a dummy light

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I dont think it is the gauge or sender because I can only puy 9 gals in when the car starts stumbling.
