Ive searched g20.net the other forum and now here to no avail, I need to put a alternator on my 94 g. It was made after 1/94 and just wanted to know do i have to use the mitsu or can i get away with the hitachi which is half the price? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Contact Miko for an alternator, he'll get you a JDM one for pretty cheap, and it will last longer then one year.

But other then that all should work fine, some make more power though haha.

I was in the same position. My alt crapped out on saturday and I needed my car for work on monday. I ended up buying a b15 alternator from autozone and then shoving my regular low port alternator in the box for core . I don't really care if it craps out because it has warranty.

Sorry mate, yeah when you really need it you just can't wait a few days... From what I've learned it's good to have an extra starter and alternator on hand haha.

Good idea on the B15 one haha

About the warranty, yeah it's great to have lifetime warranty, but it sucks having it break down while your driving on the highway to another state. Then it sucks to have to remove the coolant connector, refill the system and bleed the system.

That ain't half the story on my car. For some reason the pivot bolt hits the Jpipe. I can't change the alternator without taking off the exhaust manifold/jpip/turbo assembly. And I need to take out the radiator and fans to get to one of the nuts on the exhaust manifold becuase I didn't have the right length extentions. Boy was that a crappy alternator job.

Its all done. the much cheaper hatchi works fine. Our problem was the alt on that car was working to good It was overcharging the system. We was seeing 16 volts sometimes it blew both the headlights and the battery started to boil over. Its good now...i hope.
