SAFC start up problem
so i wiered it all up today in high hopes. got done with it ,reconnceted the battery and with the ignition on, the bouttons light up but not the screen...i dont get any start up visuals.... i called APEXi and a tech there said to check the ground wich i KNOW are good...other than that... he said they cant repair it either...


im ****ed right? anyone else have this problemafter install?


i think the unit is bad....any ideas???? im SUPER pissed that is doenst work,but lights up....

shouldnt they both light up? I can't imagine the buttons and the screen are on 2 diff. circuits....does it work ok other than it doesn't light up?

wait you can't tune it if you can't see anything...

exactly.... the buttons light up green and the screen dont work.... what should i look for inside the unit?

did u connect s-afc with battery still connected? if so .. buy anohter s-afc

I don't remember but I think I may have done so and mine works fine. But then again, it's possible I did disconnect it.


But yeah man, it sounds like you need to RMA that thing.

open it up i bet its burned, mine did that and its a goner

Triple check the grounds if they are ok open it up and make sure the harness is firmly plugged in.

i did open it up while it was on and saw that nothing lookde BURNT...but the top left corner of the screen was burbnt underneath the glass.....im 90% sure that my wiring and grounds are good...

i mean how else would the buttons light up but not the screen if i dint wire it right?
