Thread: Need help on installing B&M short shifter

I bought a B&M short shifter from a guy on the forum. It didn't come with instructions. I have pulled out my old one, and it came out easy enough. The B&M does not go in the same.

The question is, does the B&M have to come apart to install, or is there a trick to it. I see some circlips on it, is that where I take it apart to install? Or is that for servicing? Do I reuse the factory nylon outer piece on the ball? Does the new (carriage) install above or below the stabilizer bar bracket? Anyone who has installed one could chime in.

Let me also say I did search, as well as a buddie and came up empty handed. Thanks KEN Perhaps I'll make a write-up for this.

To get that snap ring off, get a very small screwdriver, insert in the gap just under the highest coil of the snap ring and work your way around the ring lifting it up above the groove in the shifter untill it slides up out of the groove.
