Why egg in particular? I was thinking this could work just as well on a B13 and B14 too.

Harris

For the B14 they have 17 x 8 for $249.

Since the B14 comes with a 23.44 tire I would go with the 215 / 40 / 17 tire dia ( 23.9 )on a boosted car. Tires in that size below.

Kumho Ecsta MX 220 AA A ( $109 )
Sumitomo HTR Z II 220 AA A ( $79 )

I have had 225/40/16s on my B13 Sentra with 16 x 7.5 wheels but it always rubbed in the rear when I went over a bump, I am sure it would fit.

I just think the NX would look better with this combination and is less likely to rub as it has more fender space than the SER

Hmm, I actually like the wheels quite a bit. I don't know if Bridgestone makes their Potenza S-03s for 17 x 8 wheels, but that's the kind of tire I'm actually looking for; something that sticks but lasts a while. I do not mind spending a load of money on tires as long as they provide me a good time-return as well as amazing performance for the money I put into them. I just hope these wheels are able to take a pounding from FIA curbs.

If that's the case:

Bank Account:\> Initiate $$$ Saving Subroutine.

Harris they dont make 225/35/17 in a good sticky street tire. These is only right now 1 tire in that size.

You can get 205/40/17 ( dia 23.5 ) in a good sticky street tire.

Andreas,

That is where the issue is. I'm trying to find a good wide tire that has good stickiness characteristics to it because the car is turbocharged and will be pushing at around 400whp. So, for a roadcourse or even street driving, I'd like the car to have a chance with traction. If possible, the aim is to have 225 or 245-width tire at the most (even more if I can fit it in without any mods). 205 I think won't be a wide-enough patch. I say this only from my prior turbo experience.

On my 240, I started getting great traction and stickiness when I went with 245/40/18 up front and 275/40/18 in the back (Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Positions with Nismo LMGT2 wheels). But when I had S14 wheels with 205/40/15s (IIRC) Kumho Ecstas, I was all over the place before traction would take hold.

So for a FWD, and especially for a B14 (which is a totally new chassis to me), I don't exactly know what's out there and what I can fit inside the fender wells of the B14s to get that kind of grip like I did on the 240.

In conclusion, I think the only way a FWD car with the power that I'm looking at making will only be able to have good, predictable traction if I went with the widest and as sticky tire as possible like the Bridgestones I speak of. Again, I say this from my experiences with my 240. Given where I'm coming from, what size would you recommend I go with for wheel/tire combination on a B14 chassis?

Harris a FWD Turbo car is not going to get any tracktion with any type of tire you are talking about. There is nothing in the 17 or 18 tire sizes to fit a SER

You brought up 240sx with 245/40/18 up front and 275/40/18 ( dia 26.66 )in the rear. That tire diameter, width, LSD plus the weight of the car transfering to the rear is whats going on.

My friend has a 360 WHP and on Hoosier 225/50/15 ( dia 23.85 ) drag radials he spins 3rd gear.

There is no tire in the 17 or 18 inch area that you are going to fit under a B13 thats going to give you tracion for a 400 WHP car.

Bridgestone has nothing like that and if they did you would rather get the Bridgestone RE01Rs which are better than the S-03 but they dont.

Come to think about it they dont make Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Positions any more the RE-01R put those to pasture.

RE-01R

Dre,

I'm talking about B14, not B13 brother. I know what the B13's limitations are. I used to own a '94.

Harris if you had a 200SX SER we could come up with something really good for boost.

17 x 8 rim SSR rim

Bridgestone potenza RE-01R 235/40R/17 ( dia 24.4 )

or

Bridgestone potenza RE-01R 245/40R17 ( dia 24.7 )

Great combo of dia, width, and tire compound for great traction.

Like I said there is nothing that is going to help out a B13 for what you want.
