reman maf
hey has anyone had any luck with remanufactured mafs? i'm getting pretty crummy gas mileage (18-21mpg) and the maf is about the only thing i haven't tried swapping. can a maf read/test within spec and still produce low mpg?

i know that the heart of a maf is the sensor so does anyone know if the companies just resell mafs that they "test". or do they actually fix them somehow before selling?

i don't wanna shell out $100 for one and it doesn't fix the issue.

I always found a new one from area junkyards and such. But from the last time I got one (a year ago), I had to get it from Minnesota. I live in Milwaukee. Some areas (like mine) are apparently getting dry as far as sr20 parts go.

Have you considered picking up a used B13 MAF from one of the forum classifieds?

We probably need to start a new MPG thread for gas mileage.
It seems that alot of people is getting poor gas mileage this winter.
Im suspecting its the properties of the gas...

My gas mileage went down from 31-34mpg to 22-25mpg this winter.
I know of many other SR20's locally experiencing the same.
Gas is cheaper these days but the quality of the gas seems much lower..

So, my recommendation is to either do nothing until the summer mix reaches your area,
OR maybe try another brand of gas (I switched from Exxon to Shell with little improvements)...
Just my .02
