charcoal canister removal?
I am swapping my VE into a new shell, and was thinking of removing the charcoal canister.Mainly to make room and clean up the bay.
It was not on the car I took the motor out,so I figured it would be fine.

I did some searching, and the only thing I see negative is that I may smell fuel every now and again.
What about routing the hose into the frame of the car to keep crap out?
Thanks
Jay

i thought ve's don't have emissions (evap, egr, etc.) so it shouldn't even be hooked up. should it?

i pretty sure there isn't one on my car.

You don't need one. Just don't plug up the vent line, and make sure to cap the ends going into intake

If you have emissions testing your going to need it. I got rid of mine. Just put a small filter on the line that comes up from the firewall. That will help filter some of the stank. But like Danja said, don't plug it, it will build pressure.

I do not have it either. i ran a hose to the wheel well just in case of fumes.

When I was getting help from a local guy that has a boosted NX, he took mine out and it's just fine without it. I do smell gas every now and then, but it's barely noticeable.

OK
I ran the line down and it fit sweet into a hole in the frame by the control arm
I really like the room it frees up around there.
Thanks for all the fast replies.
I hope the fumes dont become a problem, this car will be driven alot of miles.

I haven't had mine in the B13 for probably 8 years and took it out of the nx 4 years ago, no issues.

I stilll dont know why you are sticking it into the frame lol.. just let it hang or something. You don't want that stuff condensing in the frame most likely (don't know if it would or not?)
