tranny issue help!
I have a car that the previous owner messed up the drain plug on the tranny. I need to drain it so I can do some work but know that favorite way is not going to work(1/2 drive breaker bar). I went around this problem when I replaced a axel but I will need to remove the whole tranny soon and do not wish to make a big mess. Also it looks like the plug is way over torqued. Suggestions welcome.

how is the drain plug messed up? Is the 1/2 inch hole rounded off?

you might have to end up welding something to it as a last resort

You could probably drain the fluid by removing the reverse light switch thing, or maybe the speed sensor? One of them is down there right by the drain.

yep a half inch will not even move it. I will leave the forum member nameless but he did a number of dumb things to this car.

Made a quick call to dre and he said to just drain it through the passenger side input. I think I may just tilt the car to the drivers side and drain through the drive side input. that way I can drop the tranny with out removing the cross member which I hate doing. I think if I drained the passenger side with the x-member in I would make a huge mess. I guess I will figure that out once I get under the car this weekend.
