If you car was working before and you never touched the idle screw then that is not your problem. Sure it may temporarily fix your problem but it's a band aid solution. I would look into it more and actually fix whats wrong.

I myself am going to clean out the IACV and the TB. As well as my air filter and fix any boost leaks I may have. After all of this I may adjust the screw but I'm betting I won't have to.

Check your grounds on your maf, check the voltage on your tps, make sure your idle is correctly adjusted in base timing mode, check vaccum leaks (mine died when one of my hoses got loose) after all that free stuff, then clean the maf. I wouldn't necessarily clean the tb just yet because that wouldn't cause it to die, it would cause it to have racing rpms i believe. After all that, then come back and we'll troubleshoot some more.

True.

The real solution is cleaning out all of the gunk from all 9,000 of the idle air pathways. Either that or it's a completely unrelated issue with the MAF or something else as canx2k mentioned.

had the same problem and im still having it. cleaned my TB MAF Filter changed spark plugs cap rotor oil did a full tune up. it worked for a while and now its back. i adjusted my idle screw and it went away for a while. now its back again. the simple solution is just to change your IACV valve and call it a day. it has to be it, i took the screw all the way out and thew some break clean in there. all the stuff that came out was nasty black gunk. I belive there is 2 parts to the IACV the adjustment part and the lower part were you cant adjust or get to unless you take the whole thing out. i think the lower part of my sensor is cloged causing the lower rpm surging and dying.
