Thread: BC stage 2 numbers....

^I want S4's, but that lobey idle on a daily driver woud get on my nerves. I haven't heard but 3 or 4 cars with S4', but all of them had the crazy idle.



^Stock cam gears at the moment. It's my daily so I wasn't trying to go all out, but cam gears are still tempting . I'll look into them later on down the road. Once I get them the cam gears and have them dailed in, they should be right there with S4's on top end gains. I'm basing this on my N/A setup.

I picked up a slightly used set of BC2's w/S&R kit -1 retainer for super dirt cheap. I also picked up these cam gears from this seller, for $5 less than this auction:

I called BC and the retainer was $10, so I'll end up less than $200 spent on the cams, gears, and S&R kit...I couldn't pass it up.
Now my question is, and I already searched...what do you dial the gears to, anybody with a definite answer only please. Thanks

If your talking about the cam gears I would say some no name company, but how can you really mess up a set of cam gears?? On the other hand cam gears aren't alot of money, so why get the cheap ones.

Mine did too till I dialed them to +2-2 and they became a little lopey at idel but I do have pretty free flowing 3in exhuast on the car.

^That's what I was thinking. $100-$150 bucks gets you a good BNIB set. Custom Steel has a nice set for $140.

The brand name is EM power? It comes BNIB with a made in taiwan sticker on the back...I know, I know, probably cheapies. The degree marks are etched on, not inked or painted on, so there not the worst gears. I really don't like to cheap out on my build, but I have 4 kids and one on the way....so money is real tight. Anybody think rocker arm stoppers are a good idea too? Oh yeah, thanks for the +2-2 setting, 97se-rblown...I'll start with that.

i got stage II's also, and i notice a big difference over stock cams. that chart is pretty right cause you can feel the power difference at about 5k. your gonna like'em

valve springs,cam gears,rev limiter set @ 8... yea.... with tuning 160 is a possibility
