Funky Noise...
I have a weird noise coming from my driver side while slowing down.

It happens when I slowing down from say like 40 MPHs, I hear a thumping and a squeek at the same time and only happens when the car is in gear if I take it out of gear it will go away.

When I start going to also goes away.

If I'm going freeway speed and let of the gas it doesn't make the noise untill I hit about 40mphs and below.

Any idea what it would be?

I'd check your swaybar end links. It's probably because the car is dipping and putting stress on them. they suck on our cars. if not those, grease up your bushings on the swaybar and see if it goes away temporarily. if it does, then replace the rubber.

That would cause the thumping(feels like a wheel bearing going out)?

the noise might be there al the time you just cant hear it till you go around 40 or so... check your wheel bearings and check your control arm bushings.

Negative...accelrating is fine just letting off the gas and coming to a stop it shows its self.

Im going to look at the car tomorow and see what the hell is going on.

wheel bearing. brake rotor, though not likely. tire out of balance. and like jen said, check the control arm bushings, tie rod end links, and ball joints.

cross member isnt tight.. jack up vehicle an move the cross member by hand..

when the motor moves or when you let off the thump is the crossmemeber on the front or rear that isnt tight... alot of people destory the threads... fix them if they are an tighten it.
