yeah ben the strainer was super clean. i went ahead and bought a new one from autozone for 20 bucks but the car still cranks the same. one thing i did notice was very small metal shaving from under the under the old strainer, and im guessing its from the pump. I notice now my pump makes a whistle noise when it prime with out starting. If i prime it again it wont make the whistle noise but you do hear it prime. As far as the FPR, the vac from the fpr to throttle is good no leak. I idle the car and pull the hose to see it made a difference and it did, so no leak there.

Im going to change the stock fpr for a use good one and if it still takes for the crank while gasing. i'll change the pump to see if the old one was weak.

ben and sr20 members thanks for the help i really do appreciate it guys.

Hey man, I wish I have noticed this earlier!

What ECU are you running and is this with your W10?

My car started doing the same thing, but only after I started driving it. It used to start up fine when it was standing in the garage, but the first night it saw the outside cold, I had a hard time starting it. Now I am using a stock ECU on a DET.

I'm hoping my symptoms are because of too much fuel in the cylinders and it takes a while to get a good spark going, otherwise I will be at a loss like you...

hey sup

Right now im been runing the DET n/a, meaning no turbo. So it runing stock usdm ECU,259cc,usdm maf. every usdm sensor. untill the motor runs flaw less i refuse to run turbo on it. Having the turbo on it right now is more things to check for if you know what i mean. I think it may be a weak pump or bad Fpr like ben said. It runs fine and idles good, gets good gas miles. Just doesnt start up right and im not getting any codes for sensors. I have to put a fuel pressure gauges to help check where the problem is coming from. As soon as i find the problem i'll let you know.

Jose,

The thing is the SR20DE is a bit different then SR20DET (SR20DE-T in your case)

The timing is different, compression is different, etc. If you are not running a Calum ECU, that's probably the problem (just like our Polish friend said :bigthumbup

Right but it never had a problem since swap lol. This whole hard start thing started a week and a half ago. I'm determined to find out what it is. Eventually I'll find out.

That's the same thing that happened to me too! haha. I think the USDM ECU tried to self learn but for the worse. I would try resetting your ECU, unplug the negative battery terminal overnight, and see if that helps.

Nope I think the problem is Oxygen... or lack there off

But seriously I think it is the fuel and timing. Since the only way I can start my car is by pressing the gas pedal to the floor and cranking.

Now the thing is, I reset my ecu last night, and for the first 4 starts it started fine and idled fine, but then after work it went back to crappy idle and crappy starting
