lol, true, they did an OEM engine swap.

Auto manufacturers have used this scheme since the original Pontiac GTO.

The good news is, with more models using this motor, in 10 years or so, parts will be plentiful at the local junk yards.

This car is direct competition for the Civc 1.5 turbo coming out.Itsnot really meant to be a performance car.
.The civic has 180hp in its best trim level...so Nissan trumps that by 8 whopping HP and this sentra looks way better in my opinion
Hopefully the Nismo Sentra could rival the Civic Typer R but I wont hold my breathe on
that

Completely correct. I think the scheme chosen by Nissan is a better one than they have made in years past.

Yeah, but it can't be had without a sunroof. This must be some sort of marketing scheme to dissuade a particular demographic.

My first response at the news and specs was ..."Idiots." But after seeing @eggman post his comment, it makes sense. They aren't claiming it's anything spectacular. There's no mention of the 510 or B13 (I would hope they wouldn't dare take those names in vain). They just claim "sporty". And I can see it as a direct competitor to the Civic. It has languished in the back for a while behind the power levels of the Focus, Mazda 3, and even the Koreans. All it's doing is offering another engine. I think they acknowledge that this chassis has nothing to offer seriously in the performance department. It can't be any worse than the Sentra already is and so, I approve. Buyers just need to know what they are buying. You don't buy this car and go out and race a WRX.
