as long as i get to do a very large, obnoxious, smokey burnout that wastes a full pair of tires, from new nubbies down to cords..haha

I cross shopped the elantra touring with the impreza. Obviously i picked the impreza; my reasoning was that the subaru drove a bit nicer, had a tan interior, and the CVT was miles ahead of the 90s 4 speed automatic in the elantra. It's a little smaller in the back than the elantra though.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about the 4 speed but wife's car. If it were for me I'd get the manual, no exceptions. One of the things I like most about the Hyundai is what it isn't. You don't see many, if at all. I look around and all I see are CRV's and Subies. UGH!

Buy it, for the pure sake of pissing of @BenFenner with another rolling roadblock (considering he chooses to sit in a car very low to the ground anyway)!
