It would be a shame to go from a G20 to anyone of these cars honestly. I would gladly, and actually I did, give up a few MPG for something with a better ride and something that is a blast to drive. You say you want something new, but I think you will find most of these new cars more cheaply made and not worth the payment that you will be spending. I say find an EVO or an STI. It would be a killer winter car and it would be a blast to drive and get decent mileage.

I know its not there but a matrix xrs is dope. Some matrix also come awd. But the awd only come auto iirc. I have always wanted an older matrixXRS with the high revving 1.8 so im biased.

Umm none of these.

RSX Type S. Thats really the only newer FWD sporty car that I'd choose. Mazdaspeed3 is the only other one.

It has to be 4 door... A STI and Evo would require premium gas and at over $4 a gallon that's not going to work.

Found a 2010 XRS locally. Going to check it out today.

22 City / 30 HWY for a 4cly isn't noting to rave about. Plus there is a known issue with the 2.4 burning oil. My buddy's 2.4 camry started buring oil at 75k and has to add a 1-2 qts of oil every 5k miles.

I think your better off going with the v6 camery at 19 cty/28 (Unless your going for a manual transmission) . 3.5 liter is smoother and more refined engine with plenty of pickup and the 6 speed transmission is a plus.

I think you'll just get board with the corolla after a few years. But if your sticking with this class I still think you should check out a Mazda 3

The XRS is a fun little car to drive. It has enough power to be fun. Great gas mileage. Decent looks. Nice interior. Cant complain really.

The civic....blah just like any other civic really.

I agree you should look into the mazda 3's. Awesome handling, Awesome looks, very nice interior, relatively problem free and they do get really good mileage as well. I like the looks of the slightly older models before they changed it up recent. Id say any Mazda 3 up to 2010 is good again unless you like the new styling. But price wise, they are affordable, they hold their value really well and awesome performance for the dollar.
