Yeah there were a gazillion auto GAs available to the masses but the SE-R at the time was what brought out the passion in driving. I had one of those GA16DE Sentras before I found my SE-R. Loved it. All were manuals so I havent driven an auto or CVT in any of my personal vehicles since I was 16. There is something for everyone nowdays which is a good thing according to Nissan. They decided to go in a completely different direction than what the original B13 SE-R was intended for. An SE-R auto (or possible CVT) just doesn't sound right IMO.

For what it's worth even the GA powered B13's were still fun to drive. I had my money down on an SE before reading the car and driver article about the SE-R which made me pony up the extra cash for my current car.
And the CVT

I'm just imagining them discussing this on Top Gear.
"Nissan has come out with a new entry level saloon. It's about the size of a Golf, it'll be awful to drive, but the worst part is the name. They've called it...the Syphilis...or something."

im looking into this car. the speed 3 is pissing me off and i do love nissans. drove a c16(was the b15 the last b chassis?) se-r non spec v. hated the tranny but loved the creature comforts that come with a newer car.
