my 3000gt was a PITA to work on , I did waterpump , timing belt job . There is absolutely no room to work where they have it . and then running the timing belt my self on the quad cams (interference engine btw lol) yea not fun , Oh and as far as the easiest to work on it has to be for me my old 85 chevy s-10 and some hondas aren't bad either.

Was that the AWD or the FWD 3000gt or does it matter? I keep seeing the AWD for sale for cheap and wonder...

^ agreed , theres not really much of an "underground" parts market for mitsu/dsm's as there is with honda and nissan. And yea jere it was the fwd version SL , ive heard the awd turbo version is even more a pita , just because all of that extra parts and line and the same amount of (non existent) space LOL

- ford f150-250 5.4 v8 blowing spark plugs out on #7+8 cyl . Have to heilicoil that with no room on the back of the head.

This! Biggest POS I have ever worked on... had an expedition this happened to and also replaced the IAC valve and its pushed all the way against the firewall and has two 3inch bolts that holds it on... never will own ANYTHING WITH A TRITON ever again...

Hey Ashton, you a flat rate tech too?

I did an intake manifold gasket on an L30 Altima, and I agree, it sucks. Mitchell time at that time was just over 5; lost time on that one for sure. To be honest though, I think any of the Nissans that have coolant run though the intake manifold are a pain to re&re. VG SOHCs are a good example; swollen bypass hoses and the spring loaded hose clamps that have the ears fold over.

As far as other things go, I've heard Subaru and Toyota are easier than Nissans in general. We had an ex Toyota and Subaru tech curse at how Nissans are engineered, and the warranty flat rate times too. I find Honda a nice product to work on. I started my apprenticeship on GMs and do not miss working on them at all.

Yep. I tried replacing them on my friends Accord back in 05 or 06 and it was the biggest cluster fork Ive ever seen trying to change rotors. Had no idea it would take a press to get the dang rotors off...what the heck was Honda thinking?

My B5 s4 has got to be the worst car I have ever worked on, but I love it.
