STFU with those V8's. You have double the shit to buy. You think its expensive building a 4 banger, wait till you start on a V8.

PS- no I won't help you work on some domestic V8 rotbox. I hate them all!

Ashton, thanks for the mdx review! We n the market for one. Is the 3rd row seats almost useless? I heard they were very tight fit. If so it could be a deal breaker for us and we may jus go for a 5 seater car.

The 3rd seats are not useless for children. For an adult, yeah its a very tight fit and I wouldnt bother. I have fit in the back but im not too big of a guy and its tight for me. Fitting kids ages 5-14 is no real issue though.

Just washed, polished, and waxed the MDX today. Much better. You would never tell it had 143k miles on it.

Probably going to do the timing belt, water pump, tensioner, idler, cam seals and crank seals possibly this weekend being its still on the original stuff.

Here is my 1999 EM1 (we've had pretty crappy weather, but I was able to wash it on Friday). Car was pretty clean when I purchased it back in January.

Previous owner did the following:
  • tinted windows (front tint banner removed)
  • K&N intake
  • removed factory mud guards (since re-installed by me)
  • short shifter and "pistol grip" shift knob (factory knob re-installed)

Stuff I've done:
  • OEM Honda timing belt, water pump, front main seal, oil pump O-ring, VC gasket, coil, and hood release
  • installed 12V power plug (hot all of the time) for the rear seat.....I have kids.
  • Apex'i WS exhaust (previous kid/owner cut the stock muffler off and replaced with resonated tip) :nightmare:
  • OEM fog lights (I've wired up the cabin switch, etc; but I need to mount them on the front)
  • 15" OZ Ultraleggaras with 205-50-15 Nitto NeoGens (bought the wheels used - guy ran them 1 HPDE weekend on a Mini.....good deal)
  • buffed the headlights - they were pretty cloudy. Wet sanded them then sealed with "Klasse" - curious to see how that product holds out.

Nothing big planned for the car. Full tune-up down the road; maybe decent header if research proves it is worthwhile. Likely some Koni's so it can get a very slight drop......car has to be able to be driven comfortably for a 4 hour trip (my rule). Oh, and it needs a solid buff then wax. Previous owner took care of the car, but he seemed to use quick detailer instead of an actual wax/protectant.

Pardon the camera phone photos:

I also bought a 2001 Ranger 4x4 that needs a fair amount of work, so the Civic will be back-burnered for a little while.
