Took apart my distributor after having some CAS signal issues with it.

Found a light amount of oil had been getting inside.

Found a timken part number for the seal (after some guidance)
Ordered them but since there was a minimum order of 12... I'll have a few more than i expected.

Part numbers below

What I used in this HowTo

Another seal that has worked successfully has been

Seals came in on tuesday.

Important: put a bolt into the shaft before beating it out.
Also lube the new seal before putting the shaft back.

From start to finish:

While it was apart, i cleaned up the housing
installed the new seal
and put it back together.

When its time to put the shaft back in, make sure you lube the seal up nicely

Old seal removed...

Alibaba Manufacturer Directory - Suppliers, Manufacturers, Exporters & Importers

All those items you find that are made in China usually you can find the direct manufacturer's here. The problem is they only sell in bulk. Usually for high dollar items you can buy in 10 units, but the cheap stuff you have to buy in 100's units.

They have damn near everything you would need to do a DLI on an SR20.

Looking around on there now.
I actually pulled up timken's pdf catalog on their website and looked through it after taking measurements.

I'll take a few seals if it works, tired of replacing my distributor.

Great work here Josh! I have two distributors with the same oil issues you are talking about. It would be worth cleaning them up with new seals for sure.

Great info! Wish I knew this a few months back when I replaced my distributor for that exact same reason lol.
