Yep, chopped out everything in the way, and used silicon, or hot-melt glue where necessary.

The boost gauge was the first one I did, and while it's far from pretty under the surface, it looks perfect once everything is closed up. Mechanical gauges are the most difficult because they're so deep, and they've got a hard line coming out the back as well.

unijab, you mind if I copy you and get myself a digital autometer temp gauge? haha I was gonna get an analog one but... I am diggin that digital one haha. What makes it worse was before I saw your thread (I swear) I decided to put my boost, oil pressure and afr gauge on the steering column... haha what makes it even WORSE is I have a 91 B13 (so our gauge clusters are gonna be the same)... hahahahaha. BUT I do not have the gauge faces so you got me there

Do you have a link to that adapter that you bought on ebay? Did you just take the stock temp sending unit out, put that bolt in and screw the aftermarket sending unit into that?

I have no idea if the store i got the adapter from is still on there, but im sure if you search you'll find it.
I removed the 1 wire sensor that went with the oem cluster gauge. The adapter is so the sensor with the gauge will fit there.

I say about 8-12 months ago the gauge had one pixel that died, the past few months those a few more have died and I can only guess what the temp should say.

I say it's time to replace it and maybe in my spare time take the time to replace the display on the bad one... maybe I can find a way to move the display out of the gauge body so it can be placed in the cluster without hardly any modifications....
