The long Momo knob itself is maybe a full inch shorter than stock, and yes the shifter will penetrate deep so all the extra length gives you really over the short Momo version is more space for your fingers (and a saggy-er shift boot). I believe either knob would end up being the same height, and both are about an inch shorter than stock.

do the momo knobs screw on or do they have that shitty set screw setup like most momo?

Pointed set screws, which I am nkt really a fan of either. If you use the right insert and crank the screws down good they stay put though. I have had one of these on my b13 for 8 years or so and it has never come undone unintentionally.

my stock shift knob... you can see that it has the pattern on it. But its not the leather one so I dont know if im helping

I've had two lower-mileage P10s and neither had a shift pattern evident on the knob. I suppose it could have been stamped on there extremely lightly at some point, but I never saw any evidence of it and these looked like knew.
