Funny most people say p11>b15. Ive owned b15 and b16 and prefer the g20...just hate the lack of cupholders. well functioning ones.

I like the way P11 Black leather looks, but it's the hardest leather I've ever seen. Tan leather is far more comfortable, but is ugly.

The P11 cloth is not as comfortable or as soft as the B14 SE-L seats were, but it seems to be more durable.

Anybody have a pic of the P11 JDM centre console??

JDM console is awesome compared to the USDM one, but it's a royal pain and $$ to convert it.

The only thing the P11 has over the B15 is the Leather and the black interior. It "looks" more upscale. It appears to be a bit better on gas as well. The functionality of ALL of the the P11 interior components compared to the B15 are non-existent. It will serve a purpose for the next couple of months until I can find something more to my liking.

That is all.

Thanks to everyone that contributed to this thread. Appreciate the insight.

Wait what's wrong with the P11, what did you expect out of it that it didn't deliver? Also how much did you pay for it?

I was the same way, I was about to do the JDM console mod and pay $300 just for the parts. But then did the simple bigger cup holder mod and now I am fine with the single P11 cup holder. Plus the armrest cup holder and the rear seat cup holders, gives you 4 cup holders that are horribly placed, but it's 4 cup holders .

I guess I just really feel at home in the B15. I think the G will grow on me if I keep it. The cup holder issue is way worse than I expected. Not a deal killer but it boggles my mind that Infiniti did what they did with that. The layout of the entire interior of the G20 is not functional at all and has virtually no useful storage. They dropped the ball on the functionality of the interior as a whole.

It does look nice. I find the seats are lacking in the firmness department. They need more bolster to them. It could just be that the car is old, I never sat in a new P11 so I can't really compare. I like the sport seats in the B15 but I always hated the pattern on the cloth. Although the "sport cloth" in my B15 still looks brand new, it is high quality fabric.

I still haven't seen any pictures of it but I think anything would be an improvement of the USDM P11 console. I don't plan on wasting any money on that mod though. If any money goes into this, it will go towards paint.

I was in a rather grumpy mood yesterday so I was harder on the P11 than I would have been otherwise. It is pretty much what I expected as far as acceration/handling/ride comfort on the highway. I am just so disapointed in the layout of the interior. The B15 has so many more creature comforts. The P11 has no useful storage, when you are driving. The cupholder will be for change until I do the cupholder mod, the little storage area under the parking brake is alomost useless as the parking brake covers it. There is no upper storage on the doors for small stuff, no upper storage for sunglasses, no dashboard storage either. The B15 has all of the above. Also, the interior of the B15 looks like a modern 2000+ gen. car. The interior of the P11 looks like a car from the 90's. Storage, as you may notice, is a big deal for me.

Truthfully though, I can adjust to all of the above, I suppose. The thing I am most dissapointed about is the paint. I knew it needed some paint before I bought it, but the extent of the paint work that is required in order to make it to my liking, is extensive. Like, $2500+ extensive. I dropped the ball on this purchase. I brought it to a body shop friend of mine who, within seconds, starting pointing out very poor repair work that has been done on the car. It looks like I now have another project on my hands! I expected to replace the hood (stone chip rust) and the bumper (wear and tear) but was not expecting to have to address other areas as well. It appears as though alot of the body panels have been sprayed, in order to make the car look more presentable. I should have seen this myself.

The statement, "You get what you pay for", is most appropriate for my situation. I paid $3300. I expected to put 700-1000 in to the paint. The motor has roughly 120,000 miles on it.

You got me there, Dema. I love the ass of the P11! I'll do you one better, a properly modded P11 does look stunning!!

______________

Also, it appears as though the power antenna doesn't work. Is this common? It may be a fuse or something simple but I haven't checked yet.

Dude, ur p11 looks clean. By paint work do u mean it has rust spots?

I agree with the mega lack of storage space in the p11

Iagree with infiniti totally dropping the ball when designing the cup holder (like vadim said its a easy mod. Pop out the center console and cut off the dish of the cupholder and stuff the passenger side cupholder in its place)

But what it lacks in those deparments make up for the tiny tiny amount of pubilc mini prestige u get, which multiplys 2 folds as u do more cosmetic mods. Idk.

It looks clean in pictures. It even looks clean from 5 paces. However, when you get up close and personal and pay attention (something I should have done more of before I made the purchase) you can see that it has had rust work done in many areas. It may not have been that bad but I have no way of knowing. What I do know is that the dealer I purchased it off of, bought it just shy of two months ago. It would have been painted for re-sale. If after two months, there is surface rust bleeding through the paint, it makes me worry about 6 months from now. The paint work is sloppy where they taped, there is overspray on some of the window/door/roof mouldings. Also, the moulding on top of the windshield was loosely pushed back in with no silicone or anything holding it. There is a gap there and I would assume water was collecting in there while it sat on his lot. I can lift the trim piece off with my fingernail.

I don't expect a perfect 11 year old car. But when I asked him if it had any body rust at all, or if he had panited the car, he said no. Now I wonder where the rust will poke it's ugly head in the coming months. If I repaint it, it may be a waste of money, if the rust is already underneath.

I am pissed at this Jackass but I am also pissed at myself for not being more thorough.

He will be receiving an email. Followed by a phone call. Then, if necessary, I will be paying him a visit. If the legal process does me no good, I will put his company and name on public BLAST on every social network and car forum I can think of. I will also report him to the Better Business Bureau. I will make it my personal quest to F*ck up his business name!!! Hell, I even said to the guy, I don't mind if there are some issues with the car but just be straight up with me so I know what needs to be dealt with. The sad part is that I am not a naive person but in this instance I pushed aside my better judgement.

I believe in good-faith business practices. For this reason I can't just turn around and re-sell this car to some kid as a clean G20t. I would first have to spend my hard earned money stripping the car down and having it repainted and properly rust-proofed before I could sell it. It's just how I roll. If I sell an item/part and I know there is something wrong with it, I will tell the potential buyer. If he chooses to walk away from the sale then that is his prerogative.

I can't wait to wake up in the morning and see if the masking tape has managed to keep tonight's rain water out of the roof/winshield area. Yeah me, fun times!

But, other then that the car has grown on me a bit more after another day of ownership. =}

P.S. Dema, I like the addition of the black instrmuent surround, it helps to break up the tan a bit. Looks nice!

For the gap, a good temp fix, go to fred meyers, or walmart, and get the rubber sealant in a can from tv, should be near the registers, or in the tv aisle. Mask off, and spary, its water repelled rubber in a can, works nicely. Some of us datsun guys have been using it to repair old gaskets and shit.
