Jonathan - you got useful responses from the first two answers to your post. If you search the Forum, you will get all the information that you could hope for. If you ask specific questions after doing your homework through searching, these guys will all bend over backwards to help you. Here are some ideas for free or low-cost changes that will perk up you G20.
Set your ignition timing to 17*BTDC (19* if you are willing to run high test). This will give you several free horsepower and improve throttle response. Free up your engine's breathing with a header (available on eBay for about $100), and some sort of intake (watch the classifieds on this Forum for used stuff). If you can live with a little noise, open up your exhaust with a 2.25" or 2.5" mandrel-bent exhaust using straight-through resonator and muffler designs (search for specifics). Pick up an intake cam from a 1991-1993 SR20DE to get more air into your engine (the early intake cams were a bit more aggressive, later engines were de-tuned for emissions objectives). The install is a bit tricky if you have never done a cam swap, so do your homework and make sure you know what you are doing. All these changes would give you maybe an extra 20-25 horse power at the wheels and fatten up your power curve to make a real difference.
If you've got the money and want to build a 400whp car, that's possible too. It all depends on what your objectives are and how much you want to spend.
