Also going to extensively port the N1 runners as well hoping to raise the bonnet so the TB clears.

Looking forward to hear how it does, hopefully you'll be doing a before and after.. keep us posted please

Whos done the math, what length runners should our 2.0s be running.... ? Anybody with the formula please pm me. Velocity stacks just help direct flow and help lessen turbulence in the runners. They also assit in adding or shortining runner length for the desired application. You generally want a plenum thats cc's match the engines displacement.

Greg, what is the cc of the plenum, runner length from flange to end of the trumpets. The runners are about 50mm id with 50mm id stacks right. Just wondering as ive been trying to run numbers and spec out what will be good for two motors im building.

Iirc the plenum is like 3 liters and from what I've seen and heard here and there I think about 7in total from flange to end of runner would be about right for 8.5k.

Thanks cory. The length goes uobor down if u want to rev higher ? Shorter i think...

Im learing alot lately.

is there really that easy a principle for runner length?

from what i've trawled on the web i was under the impression that diaeter, taper and the cams being used all affect it loads too. Its witchcraft to me - IM design!

from what i read relatively smaller plenums increase air speed and in turn power but kill torque, relatively bigger plenums do the opposite.

runner diameter has similar effects i think. I think these runners are probably a good length but for a really shit hot IM the diameter and taper could be loads better. Obviously that all comes with price though, for a cheap bolt on, this looks spot on imo.

^ yes you are correct.. just saying xin is the right lenght really means nothing.. its all in the mix between taper, dia, lenght and everything..

I'm recalling from a post a while back when a member, I don't reemember where the post is, but he ran a bunch of stuff with a calculator he had. And while using 184c cams he was trying to find the right runner dinensions.. and his calculator atleast gave like 9in from valve face w zero taper...

What we really need is to try a bunch of combinations to really see what works and what doesn't.. but I agree this mani does look interesting. Id like to see some numbers of it bolted onto a head and flowed on a flow bench and dynos tested on a few set ups..

I need to get a few people who want N1s together so we can get them done. 3 would be good. Then maybe 10-15 days. Remember, this one is a prototype to check fit, finish etc. I will be selling this one to A.T. Xcessive is already on the move to make more, and to come up with a good N1 solution, whether it be an adapter, or re-flanging the plenum.

Let's get 3 guys together that want the N1 option.
