The FPR with gauge is $120. YEs it will work, but only on NA motors.

are the pivot ball on the shifter metal or is it nylon/plastic? and is there a sealed bearing int the shifter pivot assemly?

The ball is brass around the steel then nylon. The bearing at the tip is brass as well.
