JWT C1 or JWT S4HL
Hi, I would like install cams on my det, whit the next mods

SR20DET W10
550cc injectors
turbo header
3" jpipe
3" turbo back
gt2860rs .86 a/r
big intercooler
N1 throttle body
n62 maf

What is the best option for my configuration?

And Which is the max rpm with C1 and S4HL?

Cams specs:

S4HL CAM SET SR20 BILLET 0.484" LIFT / 266 DEG. DUR.

C1 BILLET CAMS SR20 RACE .476" LIFT / 264 DEG. DUR. MUST USE ASER1-SPRNG SPRING SET

What are you using for a tune? C1 cams will make more power up top but replacing the valve springs and shims is a pain in the arse.. with either setup or really on any DE motor with stock internals you're in the danger zone after about 7800~ish RPM.

Currently I have the head disassembled, if I install the C1 with the jwt springs, can I take the RPM above 7800?

If I decide for the C1, I would have to buy the springs as well, so I can not currently buy both things (springs and camshafts C1), can I install the jwt springs with the camshafts oem? And then buy and install the C1?

For the tune will be used nistune in real time

Regards

Go with the s4's. You won't be disappointed. I've ran them on several boosted cars and the gains were impressive. Currently running them on my sr20 s13 with the same mods as yours, but with a gt2871r and the car made 377 whp at 17 psi vs 355whp at the same boost level. It was tuned also, i didn't just drop the cams in. What are your goals for the car?

Gt2871r and I'm only revving the engine to 7500. That was my low boost setting. My high boost was 22psi and it put down 417whp.

I honestly have no idea what would happen if you installed the JWT valve springs with the OEM cams. As far as I know it's never been done before, haha. Would be interesting to hear of the results though.. but as you know to remove the valve springs the cams have to come out anyway.. maybe go with the S3/S4 series cam, they do very well with boost..

Call JWT and talk to them about your plans and goals. They will recommend the right cam for you. Most likely it will be the S4HL, not one of their "C" cams.

As for max RPM, again I would consult JWT themselves. They will have answers. Let us know what they tell you.

As for the forum, we all have tons of experience with the S4HL cams on turbo builds with stock valve springs and everyone loves them. I think most people stick with the stock rev limit with these cams but do some searching and you might find others at 8k or so without any issues?
