Oh ya and I found this.

20V, SR16VE (non-N1) cams are OOP.

N1 camshafts are still in production for whatever reason.

For turbo, you should really get cam gears.

I'll toss the rope out ... What would you do with cam gears ????

reduce overlap as the cams have a long duration.

Engine basics . Com .. Very cute ... Do you have any idea how much overlap you have to work with on the low cam ????? Well it's ZERO ... You pull out overlap on the high cam is cool but now your low cam ?? Piston goes down then your valve will open .. It's called negative/reverse pumping loss... Not sure how many people actually have the cam cards to the VVL cams but there's more to a cam and then you think there is... We are kind of fucked when it comes to turbo .. N/A me and Clark at JWT messed with gears and got to .040 piston to valve clearance on N1s and never lost power .. Turbo we need a custom set of cams .. Your best bet is stock VE or 20V .. VE has 48deg overlap 1.6 have 70 and N1 are 74 ... This is also why T2 internal gates don't work well if at all . VE boost is a go big or go home affair... VET cams are needed for T2 internal takes with 11deg overlap IIRC

You realize that 95% of the people on here have little to zero interest in simply attempting to understand what you said.

Mea cupla for keeping it simple for those who desire the simplicity.

I'll keep using my degree wheel and dial indicators.....

That doesn't change the fact there's nothing to work with on the low cam ... I don't think you got it either ... Sigh

SO unless you want to contribute something else or further name drop some JWT guys that basically ignored the fuck out of the entire VE engine since they promised cams for years and bailed when the new 350Z came out because SEntra owners are so GD cheap.

Oh yeah, this.

Whatever.....

They are not ignoring the VE but they are working non stop building VQ race engines... They are supplying motors to various race series !!! I don't blame them... And Name dropping?? I have known them for almost 20yr now..

Guys, lets keep it friendly yea?
This thread is about collecting information that will benefit all of us.

From all of the reading I've done, it seems the sr16 cams are the ones for me. At least until i get some seat time. It seems when the high lobes kick in, it kicks in real hard! It seems to compare well to the N1's but will stop making power sooner. That's fine, I won't go further than 9k rpm anyway. I'll probably have the limiter set at 8.5k.

I am pretty curious to what happened to jp_sr20det, the chilean guy, he was gonna do back to back dyno runs with a bunch of OEM cams and suddenly disappeared.
