Not a huge deal, but the measurements are taken @ the cam lobe, but do to the fact of the SR20's design, where the shim is a rocker ratio away from the measurement, it is very possible to go from too tight a clearance to too loose a clearance and in only .001"(.25mm) shim. 5 shims were "adjusted" up to .0005" using 600grit, then 1000grit wet/dry on a flat surface so that clearances could be kept close to the agreed upon specification.

Shims are set, this head is ready to be sent back to its owner.......

Final assembly.....

The rocker shafts are set, both bolts torqued to 8.8N-m(78 "/#s)

All assembled, waiting for pick up.....

As it is necessary to remove the cam caps to mount the head on the block, there was no need to set the oiling tubes up, that will happen with normal assembly. For the sharp of eye you can see the taller bolts in the outer #5 cam caps(intake and exhaust), these taller bolts are used to mount the oiling tubes. I would recommend using an assembly lube during final assembly, add lube to each cam bearing, as well as a few drops on each VVL follower/pad.

It is ready for lynchfourtwenty to pick it up.......
