had to call them again.... the volume is - 6cc on these pistons!

edit - making some assumptions (zero deck, and .040" gasket) that static compression ratio as of now is 10.5 to 1

edit2 - *IF* block doesn't get decked, and CP's #s are correct, the deck would be .0035", so static drops to 10.4

Factory compression for that engine should be 10.3:1 so it's not far from that.. should definitely help to spoil that turbo

Stopped into the shop this morning.... sometimes I have to be patient, after all most of the time I pop in and frequently move to the "front of the line". Some of the stuff currently inline @ the shop

I should have the head back by the end of this week

In the mean time, I ran out and got the 2 test shims

Interesting to note... I brought my calipers with me... the first one I checked measured @ .100", the second one measured .101", the third one .100". All three were labelled exactly like the 2 I purchased

more to come......

Does anyone KNOW what the ideal SR20VE squish gap (quench gap) is???

Is there a recommended NISMO head gasket, and how thick is it (are they)?

hmmmm, no one??? looks like a bit more research is needed

Now on to a little "bad" news... upon closer inspection... the exhaust guides are indeed in need of replacement. Guides are on order, they should arrive early next week.

based on Nismo's other head gasket offerings, they typically are thinner to increase compression. 0.5mm compressed height to be specific.
