The crank was layed flat for the pic, since then it's been covered in wd40 and wrapped in a bag standing up, waiting for the other parts to complete the build.

The saying goes that they can warp if stored on their side, resting on the counterweights. I tend to believe it.
Storing them on their side supported by the main journals as they would in the engine (for example, resting on a girdle) is okay to do.
It's been some time and still having hiccups, started putting the shortblock together and one of the compression rings on cylinder 3 snapped.. Now I'm waiting for one but figured I'd get some shiny crank pics up. Bearings in and crank looks good. Hoping to get this thing together before there's snow on the ground.
