I was thinking the same. I know he said this was on 20psi so assuming he hit full boost at 6.5k, im wondering what rpm he hit 10 psi as well as what rpm he has the vvl to engage at?

10 psi in the low 5000s area, vvl engaged @ 4000 rpm I rev the car to 8200 rpm.

With the new build the sr16 cams will be going in, I love the borg warner and I like the power curve but i want to install a double core radiator to keep temps down the borg warner doesn't allow fitment of the double core. Contemplating using something like a 6165 which is similar in wheel size and should perform similar but will be physically small enough to give allot more room that i can use the double core and possibly both stock fans

So the head was taken off this weekend, no damage was done to the head, the head is spotless the rod broke on the way down. the piston crowns show no signs of detonation.
Images of the carnage.

The plan moving forward is je pistons 8.5:1 eagle rods, arp everything, cosworth 1.8 or vet gasket undecided, port and polish job as the head is off, sr16 non n1 cams and if I have enough cash or if I can wait long enough xessive plenum. I might change the injectors, I might change the turbo as mentioned before. I also need a new clutch kit, going with my trusted act 6 puck sprunless with hd pp 465 tq rating. looking to keep the torque below 320wtq and get as close to 480awhp as possible.

I would recommend CP Pistons 9.0:1 compression, eagle rods and PTE 6262 turbo. Proven setup that should give you over 500whp with no sweat. @jdmsentra

It looks like the stock rods reached their limit. I don't think you will have to port the head as it flows really good in stock form. Maybe just smooth down the casting marks.

Please do not go backwards in compression ratio.

I have a friend here with a built bottom I am purchasing, with the je pistons and eagle rods I quoted 8.5:1 but will be around 9.2 with ve head and the 1.8mm cosworth, so I wont be going backwards with the compression . If I build a block I would do the cp pistons. The rod bolts that come with the eagle rods are they reliable in the 9000 rpm region?
