That cover does look pretty rough. I just picked up another GTX2867R for the automatic car and it looks a lot smoother. Maybe the new 2871 covers are made differently? There are Chinese GTX knockoffs out there because I have run a few just to see how well they work.

I also just noticed that that GTX2871 pictured above doesn't look like an anti-surge cover.

Indeed

Garrett GTX2871R, Super Core - WITHOUT TURBINE HOUSING
Code: GRT-TBO-415
Price: $1,423.74 + Tax (if applies) + Shipping
Shipping Weight: 12.00 pounds

And the turbine housings are NOT cheap either to buy BNIB (although I see used ones popup all the time. Sometimes a few per day just on Ebay alone! So there is justice yet)

I have my opinions on the current Garrett offerings as they are still using a fairly dated turbine wheel. They work, but others are making moves faster than Garrett in that compartment. In addition, without the anti-surge housing, some of the GTX wheels move the surge line to the right

I do appreciate the much wider map and this shows up in testing in regards!
