Turbine housings
Specifically related to Garrett turbos, it seems patents are on the turbos, not the exhaust housings. My question regards hot side housings.

Are all created equal? Are they all simply cast iron and vary only on their A/R and flange size/bolt/vband style?

Reason I ask is I got two exhaust housings from Chapnutz1. One is 4 bolt and does not mate to the exhaust he sold me, the other is vband but the compressor side bolt is sheared off and the machineists I've gone to said it is unsalvagable because it was attempted to be drilled out long before I tried (and failed). So I'm trying to find a 62AR, but there's so damned many out there, I want to make sure I'm getting the right one.

I have a .62 A/R one off my 2871R I'm not using. It's the 5-bolt design like for the stock T25.

Is there a way to tell? There are almost no markings on either exhaust housing - the one that is tradeable is a 4 bolt. I need a vband because the dp is a vband. I could get an adaptor for 4 bolt to vband but it will misalign my secondary...
