Thread: Mishimoto Vs Ebay JDM Sport Intercooler Visual Comparison

I originally had a JDM sport intercooler that I purchased as a kit off Ebay for the GTIR. I modified the piping but couldn't get past the thought of having a Ebay intercooler on my car. So I purchased a Mishimoto M Line intercooler. I received it today and here are the comparison pictures. I thought the Mishimoto would be of a better quality but it really isn't too much different. Knowing this would I have spent the $240 for the Mishimoto? Probably not. Would have just left the Ebay on. Wish I could dyno it with both for a HP difference but this is just a visual comparison of quality. The JDM sport looks a little more sloppy in spots but it does have more fins on the inside.

By the look of it you will possibly get marginally better airflow with the Mishimoto due to the lower number of internal fins.
Potentially less cooling though depending on how many fins are in the front-on airflow.

Ebay coolers are great as long as you buy smart.
