Built VE bottom end question
I'm building my ve to safely handle @500 hp all day, my question is: Do I really need to install a DE girdle and a 8cw crank....its it really a must? What are the benefits of both items? The car will only be in the 500hp range on tha dyno

Trey,

I run a 8 CWC on my motor with a girdle. For a turbo motor I feel it's a must. A lot of guys have had great results with the 4 CWC. I say it's a preference.

Thanks Rob, I was wondering if you had one or not

I also run the 8cw crank and girdle setup. I have seen a few other cars with the 4cw crank and girdle. I drive around on my high boost setting and have yet to switch it to low boost

If you've got the cash, play it safe and do it

I run a 4cw w/ DE girdle... Do not see an issue with a 4cw crank unless you are doing other things besides street driving and occasional drag racing

i use a 4Ctw, i dont have a problem, but if i were to build another motor i would use 8ctw just to keep my heart happy, either way harmonic fluid damper

the ve upper oil pan does not clear with out grinding. I used de upper and lower pans so I would not have the grind the ve upper pan. the crank itself clears the girdle fine.
