I don't believe there will be much or any ill effect on how the air flow meter will work. We all have seen these airflow meters in a wide variety of different installations and still does well. I believe as long as the internal diameter of the plastic housing or the length is not compromised... it will work just fine. I'm getting close to using it so we will see..
